The Henge ‘Oxymoron’ table was created by the brand’s team of master craftsmen, who, like the forest fusion technique used for the table, has resurrected difficult, delicate yet delightful disused processes. The dining table – a result of experimentation, formal rigor and uniqueness – is the highlight of the italian company’s new manifesto, directed by architect Massimo Castagna.
Characterized by an organic shape, the large ‘oxymoron’ table immediately impresses with its glossy surface top, which appears as a micro-mosiac of walnut wood. These layers of material are cut and then covered by hand. afterwards, the solid slab is supported atop four bronze sand-casted legs that connect directly into the wood. The result creates an intriguing interplay between the two materials, their properties, and how they react with the surrounding dining room setting.
